The Abu Dhabi Big Band are delighted to announce a forthcoming collaboration with Kamal Musallam (www.kamalmusallam.net), the renowned UAE-based musician and composer. Kamal, a virtuoso jazz guitarist and oud player, is known for his adventurous fusing of western jazz with arabian music. Kamal and the ADBB will be exploring ways of combining traditional arabian music and original oud-based compositions with the distinctive big band jazz idiom. A CD recording of the collaboration is expected in late 2010. Watch this space for details!
